The 2nd Tuesday of every month will play host to a brand new comedy night on Wearside, where the best acts currently working the comedy circuit will grace the stage of the Sunderland Empire’s Melvyn James Hospitality Suite. Local promoter Andy Fury has scoured the clubs up and down the country to get a top class line up for a top class venue - He himself will of course be entertaining on the night! Tuesday 8 June see’s the first installation of belly laughs, followed by 2 more in July and August. Tuesday 8 June Join MC Steffan Peddie and laugh out loud to: Danny Deegan, Andy Fury and Dan Nightingale. After working at the Hyena Comedy Cafe as a sound man for six months, Dan finally plucked up the courage to go on stage and the rest, as they say, is history. Tuesday 13 July Welcome MC Jonathan Elston and split your sides with: Barry Dodds, Kai Humphries and Andy White. Andy combines silly voices and a mad afro to devastating comic effect. Tuesday 10 August Phil Ellis is your MC with laughs being provided by: John Scott, Carl Hutchinson and Gavin Webster. An established name on the circuit, Gavin has already toured with the likes of Lee Evans, Jack Dee and Phil Jupitus. General Manager Andrew Rawlinson comments; ‘I am thrilled that we are showcasing comedy talent and especially pleased when some of that talent is home-grown.
